Junior Project Controls BIM Specialist to be responsible for specific aspects of the project, including 2D drawings and technical visualizations, investigation and evaluation of Building Information Models in both design and construction phases, presentation and graphics preparation, and knowledge of design and construction BIM technology. The BIM Specialist will perform assignments under the direction of the BIM Manager and will lead independent tasks. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and proficient in current and emerging tools, including Autodesk Revit, Autodesk AutoCAD, cloud file sharing, 3D modeling, laser scanning, database analysis, 2D & 3D visualization, and technical drawing support for our PM staff. The preferred candidate will be an architecture/engineering grad (could be as recent as 2 years), who has a couple of years’ experience, who knows Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, and has good drawing/visualization skills to help with production drawings/graphics/etc.

This is an in-person position at the JFK Redevelopment office at JFK Airport.

Minimum

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or relevant degree

• Two years of architectural or engineering design and production

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects), Microsoft Office, PowerBI, and other design/communications-related software.

• Prior experience in construction a plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Reviews design and construction 3D models and project data for quality, organization, and performance.

• Reviews of project BIM Execution Plan documents in accordance with the contract requirements.

• Assists in administrating the documents, design, model coordination, field surveys, etc.

• Develop and maintain a BIM-related database.

• Assists in QA/QC and auditing design and construction models across varied model authoring software.

• Support Project Managers and scheduling team with technical drawings and visualizations

• Participates in regular multi-disciplinary project BIM meetings.

• Assists in developing, implementing, and enforcing BIM and design technology standards, including content libraries and templates.

• Promotes knowledge and development of project team members through day-to-day support and interactions.

• Creates print and digital materials for programmatic graphics, reports, and presentations.

• Performs a variety of assignments requiring the application of standard architectural/ engineering applications for project assignments.

• Assists in updating dashboards.

• Maintains and organizes digital assets such as reports, maps, and photography.

• Prepares progress reports and keeps others informed.

• Creatively translates information by assessing problems and conveying visual solutions with guidance from more experienced staff.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
