Cedar Park Group is seeking a part-time CDL-A Driver/Shop Assistant to transport a variety of construction equipment locally and regionally and assist our shop mechanic.

Requirements:

  • Class A Commercial Driver's license
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as a CDL-A Driver hauling heavy equipment
  • Thorough understanding of the proper operation and maintenance of trucks and trailers
  • Clean driving record for past 3 years
  • Ability to climb, kneel, stoop, bend, reach, pull and lift
  • Able to travel and work extended hours as needed in all weather conditions
  • Able to work with fuel, lubricants and solvents
  • Able to pass a DOT physical and drug test and be subject to random drug screening
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER a plus

The CDL Class A Driver involves:

  • Lowboy driver consisting of oversized and flatbed loads in a safe, professional manner
  • Perform Pre/Post Trip inspections
  • Complete trucking logbook per DOT regulations
  • Basic equipment operating skills with the ability to read and write description of mechanical problems and repairs
  • Experience with understanding/reading hauling permits
  • Follow safety rules/regulations at all times
  • Experience safely running oversized equipment
  • Overnight travel may be required
  • Basic mechanical skills
