Requirements:
- Masters in Social Services, Mental Health Counseling, and/or Marriage and Family Therapy.
- Bilingual is HUGE Plus
Job Description:
- Provides culturally-competent short‐term counseling, crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning and psycho-education, including:
- Crisis Intervention
- Ability to identify need, as well as make referrals, for outpatient/inpatient care and hospital transport
- Trauma Triage/Trauma informed assessment
- Peer support
Conducting emergency evaluation/assessment for:
- Mental health
- Substance use/disorder
- Occupational needs
- Domestic Violence
- Advocates on behalf of the family when working with NYC's Administration for Children's Services or other preventative services.
- Makes referrals and appropriate linkages.
- Communicates and collaborates with service providers to enhance engagement and ensure quality.
- Providing education/training to other staff.
- Providing social service benefits and other resource information to residents.
- Facilitating family meetings (with the family + HERRC staff) to discuss planning efforts and progress
- Coordinating with emergency services/hospital social workers/discharges, especially around laboring moms & newborns
- Coordinating on domestic violence cases, particularly if a 911 call needs to be made, and providing additional support as needed

Salary: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
