Cedar Park Group is looking to hire Sign Language Interpreters:

Provide In-Person American Sign language Interpreters in the following counties, Jefferson, St. Lawrence, Lewis, Hamilton, Essex, Franklin and Clinton

In-Person ASL interpretation Services are required to provide interpretation services so that claimants with hearing impairments will be able to understand questions and provide responses during the medical exam or hearing process. In-person ASL interpreters are needed each year for in-person ASL interpretations where an interpreter must be physically present in the room and effectively interpret short utterances; normally a sentence or two at a time. Such interpretation is usually bi-directional. Exams are almost always conducted in person at medical provider’s offices, but occasionally an interpreter may be called upon to provide services at a remote location using a secured video connection.

In-Person Translator Requirements:

Interpreters must:

  1. Be experienced and possess an advanced command of the English language and ASL.
  2. Convey interpreted communication effectively, accurately, impartially and in a culturally competent manner.
  3. Be particularly knowledgeable about how common interpreting errors (e.g., omission, addition, condensation, substitution, role exchange, and question type) can impact the quality of the interpretation.
  4. Work effectively with people of different national, linguistic and cultural backgrounds with sensitivity and respect of diversity.
  5. Maintain appropriate boundaries and professional behaviors.
  6. Maintain confidentiality and agree to non-disclosure Agreements with employer.
  7. Have medical term knowledge and understanding.
  8. Have legal term knowledge and understanding.

ASL Interpreters are needed from July 1, 2020 – June 30, 2022.
