Cedar Park Med is hiring Therapists (different levels of skill) for immediate openings at the Depart of Corrections in VA's Western, Central, and Eastern Regions.
Therapist I - recreational therapists, music and art therapists, and horticulture therapists, where licensure/certification is not required.
Responsibilities:
- Assess clients in leisure, recreation, and socialization skills based on information from standardized assessments, observations, medical staff, medical records, family, and clients.
- Plan, organize, conduct, and modify individual and group therapeutic interventions.
- Work as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team and in collaboration with physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, other therapists, and other health care and vocation professionals.
- May be responsible for planning or leading group activities or classes.
- May be responsible for teaching clinical interns, students or staff.
Therapist III OC/PT - licensed therapists performing responsibilities ranging from entry level to first line supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Occupational therapists help clients improve ability to perform tasks in daily living and working environments
- Physical therapists help clients restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.
- Occupational and Physical therapists provide direct therapy services to clients with some positions concentrating on more comprehensive and specialized treatment approaches.
Requirements
- License by the appropriate regulatory board
- CPR certification
- Current PPD test and other applicable vaccines
- Previous work within a correctional facility is preferred
