8:00 AM - 4:30PM Monday - Friday
One Year Term, 2,080 hrs per year
Possible annual renewals, up to 4 years
Description:
- Delivery of patient care to the patients seeking healthcare services at an Outpatient Department.
- Provide pharmacy services to patients from an age group ranging from pediatrics to geriatric on a daily basis.
- Perform tasks at the request of the Director, Pharmacy Department or his/her authorized designee; the list of task are in direct relation to the services of the pharmacy department and include but not limited to the following: answering phone calls, taking refill requests, assisting patients to determine if they have refills, filling prescriptions, assisting pharmacists, use and replenishment of ScriptPro and Pyxis automation, dispensing medication after verified by pharmacist, curbside delivery, inventory management i.e. ordering and putting the order up, return to stock, and checking outdates. The above tasks are the minimum expectations of the contractor.
- Ability to work with interpreters for patients who may have limited understanding of the English language and who may speak only their native language and be sensitive to their cultural indigenous religions and beliefs.
- Manage all patient information in accordance with HIPAA standards, Privacy Act, and IHS Service Unit and/or Health Center specific policies and protocols.
- Will use Electronic Health Records (EHR)
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years experience
- Current and active BLS certification
- Must have the ability, capability and endurance to lift up to 50 lbs. without difficulty, have the stamina to stand for long periods of time during the day, bend and walk without difficulty.
- Must have a current valid unrestricted Pharmacy Technician certification
- Must have B.S. from accredited college/university
- Must pass a criminal background check
